It is this ‘chadō’ – ‘the way of tea’ – that colours this woody-green fragrance. Opening with a mild sweetness from nashi pear, signature green tea then bursts with herbaceous freshness, while matcha accord brings a subtle greenness. And at the base, hinoki wood – the material of Japanese onsen bathhouses – forms an accord of rich woody, citrusy facets.
